Administrative Divisions
Mogadishu is situated in Banaadir, an administrative region (gobolka) in southeastern Somalia. The region itself is coextensive with the city and is much smaller than the historical province of Benadir.
Mogadishu is thus officially divided into the following administrative districts:

- Dharkenley District
- Hamar-Jajab District
- Hamar-Weyne District
- Heliwa District

- Howl-Wadag District
