WWE Judgment Day

WWE Judgment Day

Judgment Day was a professional wrestling pay-per-view event, produced every May by WWE, a professional wrestling promotion based in Connecticut. The event was created in 1998, with its inaugural event produced as an In Your House event in October of that year. The event was then replaced in 1999 by Over the Edge, which saw the death of Owen Hart. The event was then brought back in 2000 and was rebranded as an annual PPV event for WWE. To coincide with the brand extension, the event was made exclusive to the SmackDown! brand in 2004. In 2007, to follow the format of WrestleMania, all PPV events became tri-branded. The final event was held in 2009, with Over the Limit replacing Judgment Day in 2010.

Famous quotes containing the words judgment and/or day:

The repudiation of the primacy of understanding means the repudiation of the norms of judgment as well, and hence the abandonment of all ethical standards.
    Johan Huizinga (1872–1945)

This is the day when people reciprocally offer, and receive, the kindest and the warmest wishes, though, in general, without meaning them on one side, or believing them on the other. They are formed by the head, in compliance with custom, though disavowed by the heart, in consequence of nature.
Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (1694–1773)
