The Woodbridge High School Barons compete in the Greater Middlesex Conference, comprising 33 public and private high schools located in the greater Middlesex County area, operating under the supervision of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA).

  • The boy's basketball team won the 1975 Group IV New Jersey State Championship, defeating Eastside Paterson by a score of 73-58 in the title game, the program's first tournament final in a season they finished with a 29-2 record.
  • Boy’s and girl’s bowling team have won nine state championships between the two.
  • The football team has won 12 Conference/Divisional Titles, and nine state championships: 1930, 1938, 1939, 1960, 1970, 1971, 1980, 1993 and 1997.
  • The softball team won the Group IV State Championship in 1978 and were runners up in 1979 and 1980.
  • The boys shuttle hurdle relay team won the Group IV State Championship in 1995 with the fastest time in the state, 31.27 seconds.
  • The boys high hurdle relay team won the Greater Middlesex Conference Championship for the 1995-96 school year.
