Wood Wool - Production

Production

Excelsior is cut from "bolts" (round, halved, quartered, or otherwise split logs) of poplar (for example aspen), pine, spruce or eucalyptus. For evaporative cooler pads, the dominant source is the aspen.

Wood wool can be produced in either horizontal or vertical shredding machines.

A possible further processing option is washing, which removes dust. Wood-wool processing may involve drying to reduce moisture in compliance with local requirements, as in the UK.

Finally, wood wool can be dyed to produce a variety of colored products.

Famous quotes containing the word production:

The myth of unlimited production brings war in its train as inevitably as clouds announce a storm.
    Albert Camus (1913–1960)

Just as modern mass production requires the standardization of commodities, so the social process requires standardization of man, and this standardization is called equality.
    Erich Fromm (1900–1980)

To expect to increase prices and then to maintain them at a higher level by means of a plan which must of necessity increase production while decreasing consumption is to fly in the face of an economic law as well established as any law of nature.
    Calvin Coolidge (1872–1933)
