WKHM-FM - Programming

Programming

The format of the station starts with "The Big Dog in the Morning" show. The "Big Dog," Jamie McKibbin hosts the show with Corrina Van Hamlin. It showcases news (with Greg O'Connor from sister station News/Talk 970), sports, and weather (from meteorologist Andy Provenzano of WILX-TV 10) as well as music, "brainbuster trivia," celebrity "sleaze," and "weirdo news," stories that may not normally be told during the regular news.

From 10:00 until 2:00, Corrina Van Hamlin hosts including the All-Request Lunch Hour between noon and 1:00.

At 2:00 J-Rod comes in and stays until 7:00. He hosts "The 80s Rewind," in which people call in after an 80s song is played and guess the song and who it is by; "My Three Songs with J-Rod," in which a caller gets to pick three songs he or she wants to hear back-to-back-to-back; the "Duh Story of the Day," which usually involves a story about a dumb criminal, etc.; and "The Drive at Five," where a caller calls in and "blows" (screams, howls, yells, etc.) the "5-o'clock work whistle."

Finally, at 7:00 Greg Thomas comes in to do The Night Show.

Weekends feature Backtracks USA (the 90s) with Kid Kelly on Saturday mornings, American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest on Sunday mornings, and Open House Party on Saturday and Sunday nights.

Famous quotes containing the word programming:

If there is a price to pay for the privilege of spending the early years of child rearing in the driver’s seat, it is our reluctance, our inability, to tolerate being demoted to the backseat. Spurred by our success in programming our children during the preschool years, we may find it difficult to forgo in later states the level of control that once afforded us so much satisfaction.
