Recycled Water
In 2006, emergency plans for placing fully treated recycled water from the Western Corridor Recycled Water Scheme into the dam to supplement supply were made public. Sixty million litres of recycled water was to be pumped into the dam by early 2009. Increasing rainfall from 2008 and a public outcry over water quality issues resulted in the plan for recycled water to enter the region's drinking water supply to be cancelled.

Famous quotes containing the word water:
“In full view of his television audience, he preached a new religionor a new form of Christianitybased on faith in financial miracles and in a Heaven here on earth with a water slide and luxury hotels. It was a religion of celebrity and showmanship and fun, which made a mockery of all puritanical standards and all canons of good taste. Its standard was excess, and its doctrines were tolerance and freedom from accountability.”
