Wisconsin Heritage Online

Wisconsin Heritage Online (WHO) is a collaborative digitization program initiated in 2004 by Wisconsin Library Services, the Wisconsin Historical Society, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with support from the Milwaukee Public Library, the Milwaukee Public Museum, and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction's Division for Libraries, Technology, and Community Learning. The Wisconsin Heritage Online web portal brings together digital collections from public and academic libraries, archives, museums, and historical societies throughout Wisconsin. Portal content includes all aspects of Wisconsin's history, culture, government, and industry.

Wisconsin Heritage Online maintains a wiki for member organizations and offers training in digital imaging, metadata standards, and digital preservation.

Famous quotes containing the word heritage:

The heritage of the American Revolution is forgotten, and the American government, for better and for worse, has entered into the heritage of Europe as though it were its patrimony—unaware, alas, of the fact that Europe’s declining power was preceded and accompanied by political bankruptcy, the bankruptcy of the nation-state and its concept of sovereignty.
    Hannah Arendt (1906–1975)
