Wimbledon Hawks - Social Events

Social Events

The Hawks pride themselves on being a very sociable club. They have a dedicated social committee who plan all the events at the club and put on the best entertainment in the league. The Hawks enjoy their footy but remember the main reason to play is to have fun and make the most of what London has to offer. Ladies day at the Hawks is always one not to miss, in 2011 around 500 attended the day, proving to be the biggest home game attendance in the Hawks history. The bar and BBQ is set up at every home game, and many of the players and supporters hang around after to enjoy the summer evening and cheap drink deals. The Hawks also make the annual trip to the Epsom Derby, and make 3 footy trips every season, both in the UK and abroad.

Famous quotes containing the words social and/or events:

Almsgiving tends to perpetuate poverty; aid does away with it once and for all. Almsgiving leaves a man just where he was before. Aid restores him to society as an individual worthy of all respect and not as a man with a grievance. Almsgiving is the generosity of the rich; social aid levels up social inequalities. Charity separates the rich from the poor; aid raises the needy and sets him on the same level with the rich.
    Eva Perón (1919–1952)

Nothing that grieves us can be called little: by the eternal laws of proportion a child’s loss of a doll and a king’s loss of a crown are events of the same size.
Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (1835–1910)
