Williamsburg Youth Orchestra - Performance Spaces

Performance Spaces

During the 2007-2008 season, all of the concerts (excluding the side-by-side with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra) have been in the auditorium at Warhill High School. Previously, the concerts have been in various other places, ranging from churches to schools such as Lafayette High School and Bruton High School. Since 2010, the concerts have been held in the Kimball Theatre in Colonial Williamsburg.

Famous quotes containing the words performance and/or spaces:

When a book, any sort of book, reaches a certain intensity of artistic performance it becomes literature. That intensity may be a matter of style, situation, character, emotional tone, or idea, or half a dozen other things. It may also be a perfection of control over the movement of a story similar to the control a great pitcher has over the ball.
    Raymond Chandler (1888–1959)

Though there were numerous vessels at this great distance in the horizon on every side, yet the vast spaces between them, like the spaces between the stars,—far as they were distant from us, so were they from one another,—nay, some were twice as far from each other as from us,—impressed us with a sense of the immensity of the ocean, the “unfruitful ocean,” as it has been called, and we could see what proportion man and his works bear to the globe.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
