William V. Chambers

William V. Chambers (May 7, 1954 - September 9, 2003) was a psychologist and statistical research consultant. He is a former psychology professor at Wright State University, Shorter College, and the University of South Florida. Chambers had served on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Cultic Studies Journal.

With Michael D. Langone, Ph.D., and Peter Malinowski, M.A., Dr. Chambers presented his comprehensive research on group psychological abuse, entitled "The Group Psychological Abuse Scale", to the American Psychological Association's annual meeting in Toronto, Canada, in 1996. For this research, Dr. Chambers was awarded the John G. Clark Award for Distinguished Scholarship in Cultic Studies, named for psychiatrist John Gordon Clark, M.D.

Dr. Chambers died in September 2003, from heart complications which resulted from renal failure.
