William Fitzpatrick

William Fitzpatrick (born 1949), American violinist and conductor, is currently the director of ChamberArtsFest, an annual international chamber music festival. From 1978-1983 he was first violinist of the New York String Quartet, ensemble-in-residence at the University of California, Irvine and the Aspen Music Festival.

He was a student of Dorothy Delay at the Juilliard School and Stephen Clapp at Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music. While at Juilliard he also studied with and served as teaching assistant for Robert Mann, first violinist of the Juilliard String Quartet.

As a teacher, Mr. Fitzpatrick has taught Piano, viola, and chamber music at universities and conservatories all over the world including Soka University of America, Saddleback College, the Sewanee Summer Music Center, L'Academie Internationale De Sées, L'Ecole Ressources Creatives Muiscales, The Violin Camp, Le Conservatoire Maurice Ravel, Le Conservatoire du Centre Paris, Le Conservatoire Americain de Fontainebleau, the University of California, Irvine, Juilliard School, the elementary school Morasha, and currently holds the position of adjunct professor of music at Chapman University.

As a performer, he has appeared in concert collaborations with artists such as Patrice Fontanarosa, Karl Leister, Noel Lee, Guy Deplus, Elliot Fisk, Claude Franck, Itzhak Perlman, Emanuel Ax, Yair Kless, Ron Leonard, Yoko Matsuda, and ensembles such as the Juilliard String Quartet and Blair String Quartet.

In 2006, Mr. Fitzpatrick founded the MusiShare Young Artist Program, an opportunity for young musicians to gain experience in performing solo and chamber music as well as participate in master classes. MusiShare is currently located in Irvine, CA.

As an author, he has written part of his life story into a book, "Billy" which is available on the Apple Book Store and the Amazon Kindle Store.

His students have been accepted into conservatories and music festivals across the United States.

He has recorded for the IMA Concerts, Jubal, CRI, Sine Qua Non, and Delos labels.
