Wildspitze - Routes

Routes

The most common route to the top is from the Breslauer Hut, which is approached from the village Vent and lies 800 m above the Rofen alm from which the first three ascents were made. Most climbers sleep at the hut and continue to the summit the next day (about 4.5 hours from the Breslauerhütte).

An alternative route goes from the Braunschweiger Hut in the Pitztaler glacier area. From the hut you take the route over the glaciers to the Mittelbergjoch and further over the Tasachferner (glacier with a lot of crevasses in this area) to the summit of the Wildspitze. The average time used for this tour is 6,5h.

Famous quotes containing the word routes:

The myth of independence from the mother is abandoned in mid- life as women learn new routes around the mother—both the mother without and the mother within. A mid-life daughter may reengage with a mother or put new controls on care and set limits to love. But whatever she does, her child’s history is never finished.
