Wiki Project Derbyshire - Aims

Aims

Our aims in the short term are to achieve the following:
  • Bring Peak District and Derbyshire up to featured article standard,
  • Bring Derby up to good article standard,
  • Increase the number of members of the project to ensure we can cover a wide range of topics,
  • Continue to get several Did You Know?'s on the Wikipedia:Main Page.

Our long term aims for the project are:
  • Improving all Wikipedia articles that are concerned with Derbyshire, including its history, geography, people, buildings and structures, companies etc.,
  • All relevant articles should be included in the Category:Derbyshire or one of its subcategories,
  • All Derbyshire related articles should be tagged, and then assessed.
    • This task has now passed the 1,000 articles related to Derbyshire Tagged with the project banner and 100% have been assessed as of July 2009.

Famous quotes containing the word aims:

All who strive to live for something beyond mere selfish aims find their capacities for doing good very inadequate to their aspirations. They do so much less than they want to do, and so much less than they, at the outset, expected to do, that their lives, viewed retrospectively, inevitably look like failure.
    Lydia M. Child (1802–1880)

A lie is real; it aims at success. A liar is a realist.
    Christina Stead (1902–1983)

Our age is pre-eminently the age of sympathy, as the eighteenth century was the age of reason. Our ideal men and women are they, whose sympathies have had the widest culture, whose aims do not end with self, whose philanthropy, though centrifugal, reaches around the globe.
Frances E. Willard 1839–1898, U.S. president of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union 1879-1891, author, activist. The Woman’s Magazine, pp. 137-40 (January 1887)
