Athletics
Widener has 20 varsity teams (10 for men and 10 for women) participating in Division III within the Commonwealth and Middle Atlantic Conferences (MAC). Formally known as the Pioneers, their nickname changed to the Pride in the Fall of 2006, based on a student poll. Widener sports teams include:
- Men's and Women's varsity: basketball, cross country, lacrosse, soccer, swimming, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field
- Men's varsity: baseball, football, and golf
- Women's varsity: field hockey, softball, and volleyball
- Club sports: men's ice hockey, men's volleyball, men's rugby union, women's rugby and cheerleading.
