Wexford Youths F.C. - Colours and Badge

Colours and Badge

The club wears a black and white home strip in honour of Juventus.

The badge features the club motto 'Play the beautiful game' and the words 'Life's short, work hard, play hard', a motto used by Wallace Construction for many years, having previously been placed on the kits of Cork City when Wallace sponsored that club. The five stars above the badge represent the four under 18 FAI inter-league titles and 1 FAI youth cup won by Wexford teams managed by Wallace.

Famous quotes containing the words colours and, colours and/or badge:

    The sounding cataract
Haunted me like a passion: the tall rock,
The mountain, and the deep and gloomy wood,
Their colours and their forms, were then to me
An appetite: a feeling and a love,
That had no need of a remoter charm,
By thought supplied, or any interest
    Unborrowed from the eye.—
    William Wordsworth (1770–1850)

My faith is the grand drama of my life. I’m a believer, so I sing words of God to those who have no faith. I give bird songs to those who dwell in cities and have never heard them, make rhythms for those who know only military marches or jazz, and paint colours for those who see none.
    Olivier Messiaen (1908–1992)

It would much conduce to the public benefit, if, instead of discouraging free-thinking, there was erected in the midst of this free country a dianoetic academy, or seminary for free-thinkers, provided with retired chambers, and galleries, and shady walks and groves, where, after seven years spent in silence and meditation, a man might commence a genuine free-thinker, and from that time forward, have license to think what he pleased, and a badge to distinguish him from counterfeits.
    George Berkeley (1685–1753)
