Famous quotes containing the words separate, state and/or movement:

As the two boys walked sorrowing along, they made a new compact to stand by each other and be brothers and never separate till death relieved them of their troubles. The farmer, meanwhile, sits stolidly on his tractor, bereft of romance and adventure.
—For the State of Kansas, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

For what we call illusions are often, in truth, a wider vision of past and present realities—a willing movement of a man’s soul with the larger sweep of the world’s forces—a movement towards a more assured end than the chances of a single life.
George Eliot [Mary Ann (or Marian)
