Western Major Baseball League - Harry Hallis Memorial Trophy

Harry Hallis Memorial Trophy

Saskatchewan Territorial(1895-1905) and Provincial(1906–present) champions have been decided by an annual tournament. In 1967 the first major division was added to the tournament, and the award was named in memory of Harry Hallis. From 1967 until 1974 the name of this provincial champion was added to the trophy. In 1975 when the Saskatchewan Major Baseball League was formed, this trophy continued to be awarded to the SMBL champions, and now the WMBL champions.

Famous quotes containing the words harry and/or memorial:

    Go ahead. Make my day.
Joseph Stinson, screenwriter, and Clint Eastwood. Harry Callahan (Clint Eastwood)

I hope there will be no effort to put up a shaft or any monument of that sort in memory of me or of the other women who have given themselves to our work. The best kind of a memorial would be a school where girls could be taught everything useful that would help them to earn an honorable livelihood; where they could learn to do anything they were capable of, just as boys can. I would like to have lived to see such a school as that in every great city of the United States.
    Susan B. Anthony (1820–1906)
