West Ryde Railway Station - Infrastructure and Service

Infrastructure and Service

It has three tracks widening to four on the outbound side of the station. On the inbound side of the station the three tracks merge into two. The tracks are paired by direction, meaning the island platform is dedicated to city bound trains while outbound trains leave from the single side platform. The station is generally served by two trains per hour, with additional trains at peak hours. A small number of long distance interurban trains also stop at West Ryde.

West Ryde has Easy Access for wheelchairs, the street level platforms being connected to an overhead booking office by stairs and lifts. It is the closest station to the Sydney Live Steam Locomotive Society miniature railway.

Famous quotes containing the word service:

I can counterfeit the deep tragedian,
Speak, and look back, and pry on every side,
Tremble and start at wagging of a straw,
    Intending deep suspicion. Ghastly looks
Are at my service like enforced smiles,
And both are ready in their offices
At any time to grace my stratagems.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
