Athletics
Phillips competes in the Chicago Public League (CPL) and is a member of the Illinois High School Association (IHSA). Phillips athletic teams have had a history of success. The boys' basketball team won the state Class AA title in 1975. The boys track and field team placed first in 1902, 1906, 1943, 1950, 1951 and 1962.
