On August 16, 2006, the Adult/Variety Hits format was dropped when an Oldies/Classic rock format, which had been known as "Magic 106.3" since June 2005, was moved from the 106.3 FM frequency, which had been licensed to Churchville, Virginia before going silent, to 95.5 FM, branded as "Magic 95.5" and using the slogan "Classic Top 40". Two weeks later at midnight on August 31, the WBOP callsign was officially moved from 106.3 FM to 95.5 FM, and the 106.3 FM frequency went completely silent.
