Health Impact
See also: Health_in_India#Health_IssuesThe lack of adequate sanitation and safe water has significant negative health impacts including diarrhoea, referred to by travellers as the "Delhi Belly", and experienced by about 10 million visitors annually. While most visitors to India recover quickly and otherwise receive proper care, the World Health Organisation estimated that around 700,000 Indians die each year from diarrhoea. The dismal working conditions of sewer workers are another concern. A survey of the working conditions of sewage workers in Delhi showed that most of them suffer from chronic diseases, respiratory problems, skin disorders, allergies, headaches and eye infections.

Famous quotes containing the words health and/or impact:
“We have two kinds of conference. One is that to which the office boy refers when he tells the applicant for a job that Mr. Blevitch is in conference. This means that Mr. Blevitch is in good health and reading the paper, but otherwise unoccupied. The other type of conference is bona fide in so far as it implies that three or four men are talking together in one room, and dont want to be disturbed.”
—Robert Benchley (18891945)
“As in political revolutions, so in paradigm choicethere is no standard higher than the assent of the relevant community. To discover how scientific revolutions are effected, we shall therefore have to examine not only the impact of nature and of logic, but also the techniques of persuasive argumentation effective within the quite special groups that constitute the community of scientists.”
—Thomas S. Kuhn (b. 1922)
