Washington Scottish Pipe Band

The Washington Scottish Pipe Band is a Grade III competition pipe band located in Seattle, Washington, USA. Registered as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, the band was officially founded in 1938, but its roots trace back to the late 19th century, making it the oldest continuously operated pipe band in the Pacific Northwest. The band holds membership in the British Columbia Pipers Association (BCPA) and competes at most of the scheduled BCPA events throughout the Pacific Northwest. For the past 70 years, the organization has displayed the Royal Stewart tartan.

    On a cloud I saw a child,
    And he laughing said to me,

    Pipe a song about a Lamb”;

    “Piper pipe that song again”—
    So I piped, he wept to hear.

    “Drop thy pipe thy happy pipe
    Sing thy songs of happy chear”;
    So I sung the same again
    While he wept with joy to hear.
