Band Program
The Warhill Band program is under the direction of Mr. T. Jonathan Hargis and Mr. Hunter Kopczynski. When Warhill first opened the band was made up of 49 members, with the majority of the students coming from Lafayette High School under the redistricting of James City County. The band has since grown to 120 members and the achievements and reputation of the program continue to rise. The band has competed well in recent years and was named a Virginia Honor Band for the 2010-2011 school year. The Warhill bands include the Marching Lions, Honors Band, Symphonic Band, two jazz ensembles, and a percussion ensemble.

Famous quotes containing the words band and/or program:
“What passes for identity in America is a series of myths about ones heroic ancestors. Its astounding to me, for example, that so many people really seem to believe that the country was founded by a band of heroes who wanted to be free. That happens not to be true. What happened was that some people left Europe because they couldnt stay there any longer and had to go someplace else to make it. They were hungry, they were poor, they were convicts.”
—James Baldwin (19241987)
“In time the scouring of wind and rain will wear down the ranges and plane off the region until it has the drab monotony of the older deserts. In the meantimea two-million-year meantimetravelers may enjoy the cruel beauties of a desert in its youth,....”
—For the State of California, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
