Wallyford - Amenities

Amenities

Wallyford has a station on the Edinburgh – North Berwick railway line, operated by First ScotRail. It has a primary school, Community Centre and several small convenience stores. The town was initially populated by coal miners and later grew as an overspill–commuter town for workers from Musselburgh and Edinburgh. There has been a major investment in the area which has resulted in the building of over 1000 private David Wilson/Bellway houses. There is currently planning permission for a new village centre, which will include a new primary and nursery school, community centre, supermarket and green space area.
