Awards
The first official performance by the marching band was in 1973, where they won first place in their class. Although, as a disclaimer, Waconia was the only band in its class at the time. Out of the 325 or more competitions the marching band has competed in they have won 225 Grand Champion (first-place) trophies, 72 second-place trophies and 18 third place trophies. The band received first-place at all competitions in 2005. (WHS first) In 2005 they received Best Color Guard Award at the Calgary Stampede Parade.
In the 2009 season, the Waconia Marching Band was undefeated, earning nine Grand Champion titles.
