Volunteers For America - Performances

Performances

The concert was a who's who of Classic Rock beginning at 4pm and lasting well into the night, after 1am. Performances by Edgar Winter Group, Mark Farner, Jack Blades, John Waite, Eddie Money, Peter Frampton, Survivor, Kansas, Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Bad Company, and others. Lynyrd Skynyrd performed only in Atlanta.

Each performer did a set usually amounting to about five or more songs apiece. Different from most concerts, Artist would play songs with members from different bands while the stage was being torn down then set up for the next band!

Famous quotes containing the word performances:

This play holds the season’s record [for early closing], thus far, with a run of four evening performances and one matinee. By an odd coincidence it ran just five performances too many.
    Dorothy Parker (1893–1967)

At one of the later performances you asked why they called it a “miracle,”
Since nothing ever happened. That, of course, was the miracle
But you wanted to know why so much action took on so much life
And still managed to remain itself, aloof, smiling and courteous.
    John Ashbery (b. 1927)
