Commercial passenger flights are subsidized by the Essential Air Service program. The airport had been previously served by Air Midwest, Scenic Airlines, SkyWest Airlines, Swift Aire Lines, United Airlines and Wings West Airlines. United Airlines operated Boeing 737-200 jetliners from Visalia with service to Los Angeles and San Francisco. The other air carriers primarily operated smaller turboprop and propellor commuter aircraft.
