Action
Anti-virus specialists agree that recipients should delete virus hoaxes when they receive them, instead of forwarding them.
McAfee says:
We are advising users who receive the email to delete it and DO NOT pass it on as this is how an email HOAX propagates.
F-Secure recommends:
Do not forward hoax messages.
Hoax warnings are typically scare alerts started by malicious people – and passed on by innocent individuals that think they are helping the community by spreading the warning.
Corporate users can get rid of the hoax problem by simply setting a strict company guideline: End users must not forward virus alarms. Ever. It's not the job of an end user anyway. If such message is received, end users could forward it to the IT department but not to anyone else.

Famous quotes containing the word action:
“The Oriental philosophy approaches easily loftier themes than the modern aspires to; and no wonder if it sometimes prattle about them. It only assigns their due rank respectively to Action and Contemplation, or rather does full justice to the latter. Western philosophers have not conceived of the significance of Contemplation in their sense.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“When the course of events shall have removed you to distant scenes of action where laurels not nurtured with the blood of my country may be gathered, I shall urge sincere prayers for your obtaining every honor and preferment which may gladden the heart of a soldier.”
—Thomas Jefferson (17431826)
“Without our being especially conscious of the transition, the word parent has gradually come to be used as much as a verb as a noun. Whereas we formerly thought mainly about being a parent, we now find ourselves talking about learning how to parent. . . . It suggests that we may now be concentrating on action rather than status, on what we do rather than what or who we are.”
—Bettye M. Caldwell (20th century)
