Virpur (Rajkot)
Virpur is a small town with a municipality, located 53 km off Rajkot in Gujarat state, India. It is famous as a birthplace of saint Jalaram Bapa, an ardent follower of a Hindu deity Lord Rama, the seventh Avatar of Vishnu. Millions of followers throng this place every year on the seventh day of the bright fortnight in the Hindu calendar month of Kartika, the birth anniversary of the saint Jalaram Bapa, known locally as Jalaram Jayanti. Jalaram temple is world's first temple where money has not been accepted.
There are lots of small guest houses and dining houses for tourists and pilgrims. Virpur's economy is largely based on tourists and pilgrims visiting the temple.
