Virpur (Also known a Birpur) is a village located in the Indian state of Gujarat, 40 kilometres (25 mi) from Godhra Junction.
The village is thought to be around 400 years old. There is a baithak (a place where Gokulnath sat and gave religious teachings) 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) from Virpur.
Virpur also has a Muslim shrine, known as a Dargha, where a stone exists that has been blessed by a spiritual leader. When someone sits on the stone, it rotates by itself and provides the blessing in the form of some spiritual power.
The Mahisagar river flows some 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from the village and this, too, has religious symbolism. It was once a site of pilgrimage for yatris who came to pay homage to a goddess.
There are several schools in the village and the presence of students studying technical and engineering subjects has attracted companies to offer on-campus jobs.
