Virginia Chadwick Memorial Foundation

The Virginia Chadwick Memorial Foundation was established in July 2010 to carry on Virginia Chadwick’s work and build on her achievements especially in regard to the Great Barrier Reef and through environmental activities, including environmental education, environmental partnerships, Indigenous engagement, networking and knowledge sharing around the world.

As a non-profit organization, the Foundation will raise funds and harness resources to promote coral reef conservation and management by supporting development of skills, sharing of lessons learned and encouraging advocacy to protect and sustainably manage coral reefs and their associated ecosystems.

Famous quotes containing the words memorial and/or foundation:

When I received this [coronation] ring I solemnly bound myself in marriage to the realm; and it will be quite sufficient for the memorial of my name and for my glory, if, when I die, an inscription be engraved on a marble tomb, saying, “Here lieth Elizabeth, which reigned a virgin, and died a virgin.”
    Elizabeth I (1533–1603)

Laws remain in credit not because they are just, but because they are laws. That is the mystic foundation of their authority; they have no other.
    Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592)
