Sithirai thiruvizha in meenakshi amman temple is one of the famous festival in Vilathikulam and its a traditional festival which will go on continusosly for more than 10 days.
The big entertainment for the people in and around vilathikulam is the famous "REKLA RACE" (i.e., bull cart race).For each and every festival or functions the people around vilathikulam will conduct this "Rekla Race" and many persons from all over Tamil Nadu will participate with their trained bulls.
Drama (Purana Nadagam) like "Arichantra Mayana Kandam, Veera Pandiya Katto Pomman, Valli Thirumanam, Pavalak kodi" will be conducted on every year on Amman kovil pongal vizha at many villages near Vilathikulam. Also Karakaatam, Nari kurathi will be conducted on this occasions.
