His recent writing includes pieces on the Fort Hood shooting, Mali and Africom and American policy on the Afghanistan war . He asserts that without power, good ideas are of little consequence and claims that socialists must not simply theorize but also organize.
Prashad is a self-described Marxist and a co-founder of the Forum of Indian Leftists or FOIL. His views on capitalism are most clearly summarized in his book Fat Cats and Running Dogs.

Famous quotes containing the word views:
“Experiences in order to be educative must lead out into an expanding world of subject matter, a subject matter of facts or information and of ideas. This condition is satisfied only as the educator views teaching and learning as a continuous process of reconstruction of experience.”
—John Dewey (18591952)
“Meek young men grow up in libraries, believing it their duty to accept the views which Cicero, which Locke, which Bacon, have given, forgetful that Cicero, Locke, and Bacon were only young men in libraries, when they wrote these books. Hence, instead of Man Thinking, we have the book-worm.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“But of all the views of this law [universal education] none is more important, none more legitimate, than that of rendering the people the safe, as they are the ultimate, guardians of their own liberty.”
—Thomas Jefferson (17431826)
