Vidyaranyapura
Vidyaranyapura (Kannada: ವಿದ್ಯಾರಣ್ಯಪುರ) is situated in the northern part of Bangalore city in Karanataka, India. Vidyaranyapura, along with several other extensions of the city comes under a constituency called Byatarayanapura. It comes under the Greater Bangalore jurisdiction of BBMP. The township is named after the great Kannada poet, saint and a priest, Vidyaranya. Folklore says that Kempe Gowda, the founder of Bangalore, was supposedly born here.
