Monumental Glass Sculptures

Constructed with thousands of 8mm thick glass window panes, glued together using invisible 2 part epoxy glue (Ciba-Geigy). The flat-drawn glass used (Emmaboda, Sweden) is deep green when seen from the edge of the pane (modern float glass would be much paler).

Famous quotes containing the words monumental and/or glass:

    New York has never learnt the art of growing old by playing on all its pasts. Its present invents itself, from hour to hour, in the act of throwing away its previous accomplishments and challenging the future. A city composed of paroxysmal places in monumental reliefs.
    Michel de Certeau (1925–1986)

    Like a wild stranger out of wizard-land
    He dwelt a little with us, and withdrew;
    Black and unblossomed were the ways he knew,
    Dark was the glass through which his fire eye shined.
    Edwin Arlington Robinson (1869–1935)
