Several Mattel VertiBird commercials were made in the 1970s and early 1980s. One of the advertising ageny's used for production was Ogilvy & Mather. However there is only one known commercial in existence on the Internet at this point. The commercial was rescued from an auction site by Vectrex.com and will be posted soon on Retrothing.com web site.
A host of 1970's store catalogs have VertiBird's listed in their toy and game sections.
The VertiBird's iconic nature and popularity has resulted in appearance in several movies and television shows.
One of the more recent appearances was in an episode of That '70s Show where one of the main characters Eric Forman can be seen playing with the VertiBird in a basement scene during a Christmas themed episode.
Tiltwing aircraft called "Vertibirds" (although different in appearance, it resembles a cross between a Dragonfly and a V-22 Osprey), appear in the games Fallout 2, Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.
