Influence and Legacy

In his book Great Cartoonists and Their Art, political cartoonist Art Wood wrote:

His style was distinctive and influenced such diverse artisans as Walt Disney, Russell Patterson, Don Flowers and Walt Scott in this country. Famous quotes containing the words influence and, influence and/or legacy:

Modern Western thought will pass into history and be incorporated in it, will have its influence and its place, just as our body will pass into the composition of grass, of sheep, of cutlets, and of men. We do not like that kind of immortality, but what is to be done about it?
    Alexander Herzen (1812–1870)

... even I am growing accustomed to slavery; so much so that I cease to think of its accursed influence and calmly eat from the hands of the bondman without being mindful that he is such. O, Slavery, hateful thing that thou art thus to blunt the keen edge of conscience!
    Susan B. Anthony (1820–1907)

What is popularly called fame is nothing but an empty name and a legacy from paganism.
    Desiderius Erasmus (c. 1466–1536)
