Venture Debt - Types of Venture Debt

Types of Venture Debt

Venture debt is typically structured as one of three types:

  • Growth capital: Typically term loans, used as equity round replacements, for M&A activity, milestone financing or working capital.
  • Accounts receivable financing: borrowings against the accounts receivable item on the balance sheet.
  • Equipment financing: loans for the purchase of equipment such as network infrastructure.

The venture lender effectively piggybacks on the due diligence done by the venture capital firm.

Famous quotes containing the words types of, types, venture and/or debt:

... there are two types of happiness and I have chosen that of the murderers. For I am happy. There was a time when I thought I had reached the limit of distress. Beyond that limit, there is a sterile and magnificent happiness.
    Albert Camus (1913–1960)

The wider the range of possibilities we offer children, the more intense will be their motivations and the richer their experiences. We must widen the range of topics and goals, the types of situations we offer and their degree of structure, the kinds and combinations of resources and materials, and the possible interactions with things, peers, and adults.
    Loris Malaguzzi (1920–1994)

I throw myself on your discretion and shew my confidence in it when I thus venture to write in a private character what seems to contradict my public duty.
    Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826)

The debt was the most sacred obligation incurred during the war. It was by no means the largest in amount. We do not haggle with those who lent us money. We should not with those who gave health and blood and life. If doors are opened to fraud, contrive to close them. But don’t deny the obligation, or scold at its performance.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)
