Vendetta (1999 Film)
Vendetta is a 1999 HBO original movie based on actual events that took place in New Orleans on March 14, 1891. Eighteen Italian-Americans were falsely accused of the murder of the police chief. After their acquittal, 11 of them were shot or hanged in one of the largest mass lynchings in American history.
The teleplay by Timothy Prager is based on Richard Gambino's book, Vendetta: The True Story of the Largest Lynching in U.S. History (ISBN 1550711032).
