Velo-city - Velo-city Global

Velo-city Global

ECF, recognising that cycling must respond to global challenges such as climate change, peak oil, international knowledge exchange, global trade and working with global partners such as the World Health Organisation and UN agencies, created the Global edition of Velo-city as an opportunity to consider these and other world issues on a bi-annual basis.

Velo-city Global provides a huge opportunity to provide a cycling conference that focuses on non-European issues, e.g. how to learn from the great cycling cities like Copenhagen, but also consider the more diverse challenges on other continents.

The first Velo-city Global took place in Copenhagen in 2010 and the city of Vancouver hosted the second Velo-city Global in June 2012. The city of Adelaide has been selected as the third city to host a Velo-city Global in 2014.

Famous quotes containing the word global:

Much of what Mr. Wallace calls his global thinking is, no matter how you slice it, still “globaloney.” Mr. Wallace’s warp of sense and his woof of nonsense is very tricky cloth out of which to cut the pattern of a post-war world.
    Clare Boothe Luce (1903–1987)
