Veingrad - Early Years

Early Years

Veingrad was born in Brooklyn and lived in New Jersey from ages 3 to 9, before moving to Miami. He attended Miami Sunset High School, and grew up in a Jewish household, but never embraced religion until a later point in his life. In high school he participated in football and track and field (discus, shot put).

Famous quotes containing the words early and/or years:

[In early adolescence] she becomes acutely aware of herself as a being perceived by others, judged by others, though she herself is the harshest judge, quick to list her physical flaws, quick to undervalue and under-rate herself not only in terms of physical appearance but across a wide range of talents, capacities and even social status, whereas boys of the same age will cite their abilities, their talents and their social status pretty accurately.
    Terri Apter (20th century)

In everyone’s youthful dreams, philosophy is still vaguely but inseparably, and with singular truth, associated with the East, nor do after years discover its local habitation in the Western world. In comparison with the philosophers of the East, we may say that modern Europe has yet given birth to none.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
