Vandebilt Catholic High School - Rivalries

Rivalries

Vandebilt Catholic High School's biggest rival is the Edward Douglas White Catholic High School Cardinals. This is due to the fact that these two schools are the only Catholic ones in the Houma-Thibodaux area. The last few football games have included many close finishes, notably in 2010. With 30 seconds left, Vandebilt trailed by 10, but had the ball. They scored a rushing touchdown and then recovered an onside kick. With 8 seconds left, the Terriers were led down the field by their quarterback (playing with a hurt ankle) and scored on a pass to their top receiver, who had cramped up and fallen to the ground. Despite this, he managed to make the catch. The Terriers held on to win the game, much to the dismay of the large group of visiting fans, but much to the delight of the home fans as they charged the field.
