Valley of The Wolves

Valley of the Wolves (Turkish: Kurtlar Vadisi) is a popular Turkish media franchise created by Osman Sınav, which has been very popular obtaining high ratings for the television series and one of the highest box office returns in the history of the Turkish cinema for the first movie.

The franchise has also been very controversial from time to time because of its non-Western ideological underpinnings. The title, according to Bünyamın Köselı, writing in Today's Zaman, "evokes mythological images from a story beloved by nationalists of a lone wolf that guided Turks out of a Central Asian valley where they had been trapped by enemies."

Famous quotes containing the words valley of the, valley of, valley and/or wolves:

The wide wonder of Broadway is disconsolate in the daytime; but gaudily glorious at night, with a milling crowd filling sidewalk and roadway, silent, going up, going down, between upstanding banks of brilliant lights, each building braided and embossed with glowing, many-coloured bulbs of man-rayed luminance. A glowing valley of the shadow of life. The strolling crowd went slowly by through the kinematically divine thoroughfare of New York.
    Sean O’Casey (1884–1964)

    “Over the mountains
    Of the moon,
Down the valley of the shadow,
    Ride, boldly ride,”
    The shade replied,—
    “If you seek for Eldorado!”
    Edgar Allan Poe (1809–1849)

All the Valley quivered one extended motion, wind
    undulating on mossy hills
    Allen Ginsberg (b. 1926)

It is impossible you should see this,
Were they as prime as goats, as hot as monkeys,
As salt as wolves in pride, and fools as gross
    As ignorance made drunk.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
