Vertigo is a native of the Savage Landin the Marvel Comics universe. The character, created by Chris Claremont and Michael Golden, first appeared in Marvel Fanfare vol. 1 #1 in March 1982. Within the context of the stories, Vertigo obtained powers through genetic engineering, allowing her to render a person severely dizzy and even unconscious.
