Uthman Ibn Ali

Uthman ibn Ali was one of the martyrs in Karbala. He was the brother of Abbas. His mother was Ummul Banin. According to the Shia minority sect of Islam, he said that his father Imam Ali had said: 'I called him Othman because of my brother Othman ibn Madh'oon'. This is highly likely because Ali also named his children Muhammad and Omar(named after a mertyr in a battle of imam Ali (a.s)). In Karbala he was hit by an arrow by Khawli ibn Yazid, which made him fall to the ground, then another man came and killed him. He died at the age of 21.

Famous quotes containing the word ali:

That was always the difference between Muhammad Ali and the rest of us. He came, he saw, and if he didn’t entirely conquer—he came as close as anybody we are likely to see in the lifetime of this doomed generation.
