UTC Offset - Daylight Saving Time

Daylight Saving Time

Several regions in North America, Europe and Australia use daylight saving time (DST). The UTC offset during observation of DST is typically obtained by adding one hour to standard time. Central European Time UTC+01:00 becomes Central European Summer Time UTC+02:00, and Pacific Standard Time UTC−08:00 becomes Pacific Daylight Time UTC−07:00.

Famous quotes containing the words daylight, saving and/or time:

    And not by eastern windows only,
    When daylight comes, comes in the light;
    In front the sun climbs slow, how slowly!
    But westward, look, the land is bright!
    Arthur Hugh Clough (1819–1861)

    Avarice is generally the last passion of those lives of which the first part has been squandered in pleasure, and the second devoted to ambition. He that sinks under the fatigue of getting wealth, lulls his age with the milder business of saving it.
    Samuel Johnson (1709–1784)

    What with making their way and enjoying what they have won, heroes have no time to think. But the sons of heroes—ah, they have all the necessary leisure.
    Aldous Huxley (1894–1963)
