USS Smith (DD-378)

The second USS Smith (DD–378) was a Mahan-class destroyer in the United States Navy during World War II. She was named for Lieutenant Joseph B. Smith, USN. LT Smith had been killed as the senior officer aboard USS Congress when Congress was sunk by CSS Virginia.
