USS James E. Craig (DE-201)
USS James E. Craig (DE-201), a Buckley-class destroyer escort of the United States Navy, was named in honor of Lieutenant Commander James Edwin Craig (1901-1941), who was killed in action aboard the USS Pennsylvania during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941.
James E. Craig was launched on 22 July 1943, by Charleston Navy Yard; sponsored by Mrs. J. E. Craig, widow of Lieutenant Commander Craig; and commissioned on 1 November 1943, Lieutenant Commander Hampton M. Ericson in command.
