USPTO Registration Examination - Tested Subject Matter

Tested Subject Matter

The examination is intended to measure the applicant's familiarity with USPTO procedures, ethics rules, federal statutes, and regulations. The applicant is allowed to use an electronic copy of the Manual of Patent Examining Procedure (MPEP) in the computer-based examination and a paper copy of the MPEP in the pencil-and-paper test but no other material. A large number of questions typically deal with the proper drafting and handling of a U.S. patent application or international application.

Famous quotes containing the words tested, subject and/or matter:

The transformation of the impossible into reality is always the mark of a demonic will. The only way to recognize a military genius is by the fact that, during the war, he will mock the rules of warfare and will employ creative improvisation instead of tested methods and he will do so at the right moment.
    Stefan Zweig (18811942)

When a thing ceases to be a subject of controversy, it ceases to be a subject of interest.
    William Hazlitt (1778–1830)

If your mother tells you to do a thing, it is wrong to reply that you won’t. It is better and more becoming to intimate that you will do as she bids you, and then afterwards act quietly in the matter according to the dictates of your better judgment.
Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (1835–1910)
