Civic Amenities
Urapakkam is supported by a fully functional electricity board and a village panchayat office. It has two sub post offices - one in east and the other is in west. Despite enormous growth, some parts of Urapakkam lacks basic civic amenities such as water and good roads. Power cut has become a major issue at Urapakkam for the past 1 year. Sometimes it may extend up to 8 hours a day since these areas fall just outside the CMA limit which ends at Vandalur. Recently, women residents staged a protest outside the bill payment centre of TANGEDCO in Urapakkam.
